Walking the shoreline

In 2014 and 2015 I walked the entire shoreline of the Netherlands to try to experience the human impact on a natural and liminal phenomenon. The Dutch have an ongoing rich artistic and engineering relationship with the sea.
I started in the south at the border with Belgium and walked towards the north, following the flow of the Zeeland islands, across the Delta Works, the South Holland and North Holland shoreline, crossed over to the Wadden Islands, walked around these islands, across the Afsluitdijk and the dykes of Friesland and Groningen, unto the border with Germany.
